I'm also doing this one over at CYS with limited participation thus far, so I'd like to see if you guys are faster at responding. ^_^
I'm choosing how I want to utilize the advanced editor for my upcoming Gamebook, so I've decided to run a few scenarios in here for you.
Relevant world info you need to know: The Element Wheel. This makes up the Elemental school of magic in my Gamebook, which is approximately half the world's known magic. This chart shows how the seven elements interact. As you can see, Metal is created by Earth and in turn creates Water. Metal is destroyed by Fire and in turn destroys Flora. You can follow this pattern all the way around The Element Wheel.
I will be testing whoever wishes to play in several Gamebook-style situations. Whoever gets to a decision first is the official person to have tested it, and other players will only have the remaining ones to choose from - until a new situation is posted. I have not posted this in Forum Games because there aren't (technically) any hard and fast rules to it. I'm just "toss[ing] around ideas" for my upcoming Gamebook here.
That said, here's Situation #1 -
You are a Pyromancer (Fire) in a sealed underground crypt with a crazed enemy Erdemancer (Earth). He has caused a cave-in behind you blocking your retreat and the only other air into this chamber. You must get past him in order to open the doors behind him and move onward. You have just been fighting in the chamber before and are wounded (11/30 HP remaining), but your spirit is refreshed and invigorated (20/20 SP [Spirit Points - think "Mana"] remaining). He looks pretty stalwart physically, but seems to have spent a good deal of his spirit bringing down the stones behind you.
The chamber is full of violated and opened stone caskets, their skeletal inhabitants and spiderwebs open for all to see. There are but a few burning torches around the room, and the lighting grows dimmer by the minute due to the strangled air flow. You have a short sword (+2 Strike) and are wearing leather armor (+2 Armor), but you can see that he has naught but a tattered robe and his bare hands.
How will you get past him?
1) Attempt to reason with him, counting on your level 10 Charm to save you.
2) Charge him! You have the weaponry advantage, and your level 15 Speed could be enough to close the gap.
3) Use the flames from the torches along with your inner Pyromantic fire to scorch him to cinders!
4) Take cover behind the nearest stone casket (hoping his Erdemantic skills are too weak to move it) and wait for him to move closer.
5) Extinguish the torches with your Pyromancy and attempt to fight in the dark.
