In the near future, mankind has started to fall to what scientists have labelled as the GGE - "Global Genetic Entropy". Racial divides didn't matter so much at this point, considering somewhere alongthe line any 5 families would have a common ancestor, and biodiversity was just a thing of the past.

It is for this cause that the researchers of Cerberium and OSIRIS have quietly made progress on genetic splicing, that is "taking the genes of one organism and emplacing them in ano and The first of the successful demi-humans were labelled as "Stasis", refering to their inability to be modified after a certain extent. Many of these proliferated intheh slumsof super-cities like New York, Beijing, and London, or in the prison systems throughout the world. People just thought of them as products of global warming, but the governments knew better.
They wanted to have a ball in play, too. Often, hybrids would thrive using their spliced capabilities, like a criminal kingpin called "Saltwater" used for executing his enemies deep in the ocean with his gills. Similarly, they wanted soldiers that didn't need so much equipment and training to wage the same wars with the same (if not better) amount of lethality.
Under the names of big pharmaceutical companies and other gov't associated tech firms, the US and China continues to this day conducting research to make the perfect supersoldier. Most Stases are now produced from such facilities, or on occasion from the prison system.
OSIRIS and Cerberium decided to up the ante against each other, and have more recently developed project "Shifter", researching arbitrary metamorphosis. Thus came about the second product line, which primarily consisted of were-organisms, including werewolves, werebears, etc. The culmination of this project was to produce weapons that could leave no trace, and so Cerberium produced "the Beast", a shifter with an incredibly modified morph. The only confirmation of the human identity is that the Beast is male.
OSIRIS produced the foundations for the third project, and came out with the prototype "Medusa", a shifter that could morph into 7 different species of snakes, all with their own unique adaptations to any part of the world.
Both of these have been missing from their respective companies when they came in close proximity with one another, but both of their microchips were terminated before they could see the end result of the battle.
And so, with both companies having so much control over the same fields, the two decided to create a trust group to merge the two under the handle of "Crucible".
Crucible, most recently, has restarted all past operations and projects, along with a third development : Project Glutton. To create the ultimate bio-weapon that opposed governments, 13 identical organisms were produced to consume and gain adaptations from anything and everything they ate. Upon the first testing, one of the researchers' children accidentally dumped two of these Gluttons down the drain.
Crucible shrugged it off, and continued business as usual.
Now, they plan to oppose the superpowers of this world utilizing the Gluttons in 2-man cells, minus their leader.
And here is where you guys come in.
Russia, all along, was following to the letter the research of these two companies. As opposed to espionage by theft of information, Russia simply sent in three spies to gather info on each project, and from there has created a task force comprising of people from every project, as well as a few humans.
Your objective : burn the Crucible from the inside out.
