 This game... hoo boy. It was released pretty recently. September 15 th. Someone mentioned it on Reddit; seemed interesting; finally got around to playing it a couple days ago. I love it. ♥Undertale's an indie RPG, very reminiscent of the Mother series, about a child who has fallen into the underground realm of monsters and must find a way home. Battles are... different. It's turn-based, but during the enemy's turn you are able to dodge their projectiles and avoid damage... and you don't need to kill anyone to succeed. In my opinion, the game does near everything right. It's unique. It's quirky. It obliterates the fourth wall. It makes you think. It makes you feel. The soundtrack is fantastic (like seriously, as a composer, this guy's my new role model). The characters are frickin' adorable. Uwa!! ...♫ It's on Steam ($10 USD). There's also a demo. Why am I always late to the party...?
"Obliterates the fourth wall" is an understatement.
Undertale beats it up into a pulp.
Then chews it into gum.
Then burns it.
Then drowns it.
Then suffocates it in determination.
Then chokes it.
Then strikes up a friendly conversation with it.
...
Then it repeats the process.

This game is my favorite game right now. I've downloaded the soundtrack, drew fan art, watched let's plays of it...
The ironic thing is that I haven't even played it yet.

Having gone in fairly blind, I find it crazy how it's become one of my favorites, and how compelled I've felt to watch others experience this game through let's plays.
And this has been said many times over, but it's so true how self-aware Undertale is. It knows its medium and embraces it, taking full advantage and doing things only a video game can. Shame it hasn't won more awards, really.

I've literally only known Undertale for a couple of weeks and now it's my favorite game.
I've also become a bit obsessed with the Soundtrack. Now, I play Megalovania all the time. XD

From the soundtrack, my Big Favorite would go to the eponymous "Undertale". Really fitting and beautiful peace, and I was quite pleasantly surprised the first time I heard it, when it really started picking up.
