I've been trying to find a real-life value in coins to know what some magical items would cost if they actually existed. I've noticed that the value of coins, however, is as wavery as fuck.
For example, the raw steak costs 15 coins, and the average steak at my local Frank's Supermarket (tm) is about $7.50. This puts the value of coins at roughly 10 cents.
However, it would cost a helluva lot (Assuming $120, if not more) to get a genuine blacksmith steel kiteshield, which would put the value of coins at around $1.60 each.
Seeing as it's implied that the Dubstepy replica is just a normal minigun but painted, I'd assume that the average minigun costs $1,500. This places coins at a value of $1.50 each.
But then there's toast, and you can buy a 20-slice loaf of regular bread for $1.00, which brings coins down to about $0.5
And don't even get me fucking started on that potato!
Is there a canonical USD value for coins? Because I'm starting to get the feeling that the supply and demand in this here empire is highly, highly unusual.

Just a quick bump, because this shit is probably important to someone else too.

Well, a Masvodskan Gyllisse is worth 1.5 USD. Last I checked, your silly English money is only about 1.41 USD. I just need a convenient waypoint.

I don't think you'll find one. The prices for items are pretty inconsistent.

Do we have an exchange rate for immigrants and tourists?

Not as far as I know.

I've been leaning more to the side of acquirability rather than consistency.
