While the vocals are a major part of the songs, the instrumental parts are better.

Anyways, I'm going to have to say that the Vocaloids or whatever they're called are disqualified as their voices are product of machines and not actual talent.

The mechanical aren't innately inferior to the manual. Some machine-automated tasks can be accomplished much faster and in a better fashion than when done by hand.
As for voice vs. vocaloid, I don't think the two should be treated as competitors. Sure, they're both "vocals", but vocaloid is a synth. They're two different instruments. They each have their own place in music production.
Comparing Pink Floyd to Vocaloid is like comparing The Who to an erhu.

Vocaloid is a synthesizer. The producer has to arrange the pitches and phonemes to create a vocal line, and there are various "voices" to choose from, which are sampled from actual singers.  |
