BACKSTORY
The second age is when your kind first began to exist... when humanity came into being.
They formed in wastelands that separated the different Elemental's domains. This wasteland was lifeless, made of dead rock and painted a never ending grey.
Yet, it was here that humanity somehow came into being. And from here, they spread. Now, the Elementals are playing gods to the humans, experimenting and entertaining themselves, yet their individual domains are small compared to the bulk of the wastes.
Each is content to remain in their own lands, for humans naturally flocked to their energetic lands, seeking ways to survive. However, some stayed in the wastes, now they are considered nomads, constantly moving.
Centuries having passed has lead to humans adapting to their environments, even the nomads are no longer what they once were. But now, something is changing... strange beasts are appearing in the wastes, domains without rulers are appearing, and humanity is rising.
So I urge you, come and explore, the world is full of adventures to be had...
SIGN UP SHEET
KEY: Rp = Race Parameter, heavily influenced by your race.
Name: [Your character name, nickname and anything else they go by.]
Gender: [Your character's physical gender.]
Age: [How many years your character has been alive for.]
Race: [Refer to the races found below for more information. Pick one.]
DescriptionRp: [Hair style and colouring, eye colour, skin colour, and everything else involving your physical appearance (not including your outfit.)]
Outfit: [Your starting clothes and armour, most races tend to wear some kind of clothing mainly for protections. Include everything other then consumables and equipment. (Jewellery goes here). These items have passive uses, for example, you don't have to think about them during combat.]
Consumables: [Things that have limited uses. Will run out as you use them. Include any food items or potions. Most of you will end up carrying just some food to start with. Are usually actively used, but certain consumables can be passive.]
Equipment: [Gear that you have to actively use but will not run out. Includes shields, swords, staffs, bows and all other Fantasy weaponry you can think of. Automatic guns do not exist yet. Swords and the like may break, but are multi purpose and aren't limited in the same way as consumables. So feel free to poke stuff on the ground with sticks but don't go stabbing rocks with your rapiers.]
Stats: [Fill in following your personal preference, then place your race modifiers in parentheses (brackets).]
HP: 10 + (Vit x 5)
Resistances:
Element Hazards- (Distribute 30 points)
- Fire - 100/200 - Frost - 100/200 - Lighting - 100/200 - Arcane - 100/200 - Chaos - 100/200 - Toxic - 100/200
Physical Hazards- (Distribute 15 points)
- Slash - 100/200 - Puncture - 100/200 - Blunt - 100/200
Major Stats:
Distribute 10 Strength - 0 Endurance - 0 Vitality - 0 Agility - 0 Speed - 0 Intelligence - 0 Wisdom - 0
Focus - 0 (For every 2 points you don't use for Major Stats you can add 1 here.)
RACES
The following are the races you are allowed to start as, if you REALLY want some other element feel free to PM and I will tell you if it exists, because I am obviously hiding the best of them.
Nomad [Neutral]:
Humans who can survive without sustenance for a long time, their constant travel through the dangerous wastes has lead to having increased agility, endurance and strength. [+2, +2, +1 respectively.]
Their evolution has been unaffected by Elementals, leading to weakness against all elements [-20% Protections to all elemental damage], but increased defence against physical hazards [+25% Protections to all physical damage.]
Their skin is usually a shade of grey. Anywhere from near pitch black to almost white. Their eyes are simple black dots surrounded by white. However genetic mutation can often lead to almost any colour even among Nomads.
Firian [Fire]:
Humans who have long ago travelled to the Fire Elemental's domain. Now they sport thick scales painted in the shades of fire, oddly their eyes almost never resemble fire. Their hair is almost like straw, but it does not burn and is much harder to alter.
Their scales provide good defence against sharp weaponry [+20% Protections for Slash], but are weaker to blunt and puncturing ones [-20% Protections for Blunt and Puncture.]
Further their natural defence to fire leaves them almost completely immune [+95% Fire Resistance.] Softer flames can even heal some of their wounds.
Almost burning on the inside Firians are fragile in an odd way [-1 Endurance, -1 Vitality.] However they sport superior Speed, Agility and Strength [+2, +2, +3 respectively.]
Some of them are even able to breathe fire without the use of any magic! This completely sets their insides on fire, providing complete fire immunity [+5% additional Fire Resistance] but weakens them further. [-1 additional Endurance and Vitality.]
Wateian [Water]:
Having stumbled upon the Water Elemental's lands these humans have developed to be tall, sleek and thick skinned. Their skin varies from blue, green and purple (and the countless shades between them), while their eyes tend to match their skin. Being thick skinned to retain warmth deep beneath the water, these humans are effected by the cold very little.
Further they are able to remain under water for very large amounts of time, thanks to specialised lungs that were given to them by the water elemental. This leads to them having developed specifically for traversing water [+2 Speed, +2 Endurance, +2 Agility] but leaving them unable to punch as hard. [-2 Strength]
They naturally have a minor magical link [+1 Focus.] This link with water and magic further leaves them weaker to certain elements. [-20% Ice and Chaos Resistance.]
Sanian [Sand]:
These people dwell with the Sand Elemental, leaving them with scorched skin, which is often the colour of burnt sand. Their eye colour tends to be lighter.
Constant life in the desert leaves them more accustomed to both the heat and cold. Further survival often involves difficult work [+2 Strength and Intelligence, +1 Endurance.]
However they suffer from weakness to most physical damage [-20% Physical Resistance excluding Blunt.]
Rocian [Rock]:
The Rock Elemental's sturdy nature has been reflected onto the humans who reside within his land. This gives them increased resistance to a lot of things [+20% Puncture and Slash, +10% All Elements excluding Chaos and Arcane.] It also makes them tougher [+3 Strength, Endurance, Vitality.]
Their skin is much like the rocks around them, this does lead to them having weaker agility and speed [-2 Agility and Speed.] Their skin is hence the darker shades of grey.
Their eyes tend to be dull colours. They are also unaffected by heat and cold.
SYSTEM: Damage Dealt / Health Loss = Wep Damage + Agility/Strength Modifier (based on Wep) - Defence of Victim
When someone attempts doing something, I will roll a 1d20 and add the associated Major Stat. If it is above the DC (Difficulty Class) they succeed. Natural 1 or 20 (So no modifier) are criticals, 20 being good and 1 being bad. - The die rolled and how many can vary as circumstances demand.
This is mainly there so your character plays to their strengths.

That is all for now! More additions coming as I revise what I have here.
For now this is mainly an interest thread, see how it goes.

Glad to hear, will be fun throwing people around and seeing what they try to do.
It basically works like a much simpler dungeons and dragons.
Feel free to add backstory and personality for your character sheets, but this is optional as you will mainly be making your own story, rather than continuing an old one.

To be fair, Nomad is going to give you a lot more options (for the start anyway) since who knows what place you might be near!
If I get enough Nomads it would be very DnD like to make you all into a party... hmm...
*Thinking, sulks into corner*

Before I post my sheet, I have a few questions.
1. Can you subtract from starter stats to gain more in that area? 2. What are some other of the hidden races? 3. How many sheets are we allowed to have?

Before I post my sheet, I have a few questions. 1. Can you subtract from starter stats to gain more in that area? 2. What are some other of the hidden races? 3. How many sheets are we allowed to have? 1. Going to change the way personal stat distribution works, will post that after this~ As for the stats you get based on your race, they cannot be changed.
You cannot decrease base stats (the 0's) yourself at the start. So if you wanted to make your vitality -1 to have 1 endurance you wouldn't be able to.
Will give an example with the new stat distribution.
2. Races included... Nomad, Fire, Water, Sand, Rock, Frost, Arcane, Time, Toxic, Dark, Light, Death, Life. And two more that are more plot related... (Colouring is more for reference so don't worry about it.)
(If you are curious about their names, just take away the last letter and add 'ian'. Frosian etc.)
Also more might be added, but chances are pretty low.
3. It would be simplest if you stick to just one character sheet (if they die you can roll another), but if you want more there isn't any real reason not to be able.
So... as many as you want really.

Accepted!
Made it pretty easy for me to bring you into the story too, so thanks for that!
SAND GOD approves your dedication...
Hopefully more people will give this a go, because one person forum games tend to be looked at funny...
_____
Going to put a Q&A up soon in case some people are just looking but don't want to ask questions.
NOTE Leveling will exist but it will be based more on what you do, rather than how many rats you stab (feel free to stab a heap, you might get rat slayer perk or something).

Q&A ___
Can I be some a different race?
Most likely, yes, just pm which one you want and I will give you the stat buffs/debuffs associated with those people. There is one for pretty much every 'element'. Keep in mind that 'elements' are pretty loose in their definition, and that pretty much anything can be one.
So many stats...
That... isn't a question, anyways yes. There are quite a few to help you personalise your character as much as possible. It really is not that complicated as you (the players) won't have to worry about it after you make the initial sign up.
If you are struggling a lot feel free to ask questions! Heck, you can just tell me the sort of character you want and I will whip you up a sign up sheet with stats filled in.
Will I waste time making a sheet only for you to kill them real quick?
Hmm... No? The way it will work is that your characters will start with a degree of powerful 'plot armour' which degrades each post.
In other words, this is meant to be a 'fun', I won't be trying to kill your characters. But if you try killing an elemental as soon as you spawn... you won't win unless you... no I don't see it happening.
Keep in mind if you play to your character and try to work with what you are told (oh that guy is limping, hit that leg!) you will likely do a lot better then just saying the bare-est minimum.
Wait, leveling is different? What.
Basically it means that if you constantly try to puzzle things out your intelligence will increase. However this will be pretty minor and passive and the majority of your improvement (leveling) will be done yourself when you accomplish milestones. So... complete a few encounters, find a chest, you get a level up!
So... Focus is magic? What type of magic?
Good question. Focus is mainly in regards to Chaos and Arcane (for the beginning) and will allow you to control those energies in limited ways. The more focus the more energy you can draw on.
For example, having 1 point means you can easily distinguish between arcane and chaos magic. You would also be able to fire simple blasts of the stuff yourself. Along with some other... more creative minor uses.
As your focus goes up your capabilities improve.
Sounds pretty useful, whats the catch?
Takes two points to get one focus point.
For those of you who don't want to 'waste' points know that magic isn't exclusive to just focus. And as mentioned in the leveling question... there is more than one way to increase a stat.
Sounds like... HIDDEN STATS!?
How did you know! In a sense, there will be stats that might appear as you progress. However these stats are not nearly as important as the Major Stats and as such are not there to begin with.
Furthermore they are more plot related.
So... big plot?
Can be cut as short or as long as needed. But there definitely is more going on than the backstory lets on...
Can I join after it starts?
Yes you can, but I urge you to try and get a sign up sheet before that happens... Since right now, I am thinking about some sort of 'rewards' for those who join up first (but they would be shared with those who make good applications).
___
That is all!
But wait! I have more questions to ask!
Ah you still can! If you don't want to post it on this thread feel free to pm me instead! If any of these answers are unsatisfactory feel free to ask (on thread or in a pm) for a better one!
After all, I already 'know' everything (in relation to the game), so I might miss important stuff because I think I wrote it down somewhere before. So feel free to question me!
