I'll re-think about it....
Everyone is different, and that's why CYS have a great variety of amazing storygames. With my own creativity and imagination, I'll work on this storygame. Each of us have our own strengths and weaknesses. Some of us prefer fantasy while the others go for romance and horror. I'll be a mix of various things.

Nice. A mix is good. *plotting hands* Now, if I can just find a way to control the zombies and make them carry the ice cream machine for me....

I might make the ice cream machine to be available to pick up. Still, no magic or fantasy in the storygame though. Writing style is not as great as Endmaster or Kiel_Farren. But there's still something in every unique storygames.

I understand no magic or fantasy but if the people who unleashed the zombie plague have a controlling device then it can be stolen...

The Chinese forces are the one who infect them....

But can they control the zombies? If so, what is the range of their remote control device for the dead...

They infect people but they can't control the zombies. They intend to infect the USA, wait until most of the people got infected, spread antidote, zombies die, then invade America.
Unfortunately, the US SOCOM discovered their plans and send DEVGRU (SEALs) to get the antidote and recover them back to base. They use the antidote to kill all of the zombies before they lose any more people. Having failed with the virus, a mechanized division of the PLA got forced to fight the US and German soldiers in the country.

I've seen the new and some zombie survival guide or storygames in CYS and other sites. You know what? I kind of disagree with them. I think some of them are wrong. People who are a fan of zombie apocalypse may or may not like my storygame either, especially for those who are more extreme. It's not a regular zombie survival game since it's mixed with Spec Ops type of weapons, military vests, more female companions, and marines companions. Choices are different from most zombie games too. Seriously, zombie guide says armor is for pussy and not good. Oh, hello? Kevlar vest gives me additional storage for storing ammo and things.
Wearing camouflaged army fatigue and cargo pants led me to be killed. Why? Because them zombies have more gaps to hold on me. Hmph, the benefit is actually more forgiving rather than the minus actually. I disagree with those storygames and guides.
Expect different outcomes and stuff in my storygame. Again, it's not the regular piece of most zombie storygames. Conventional ways that led you to your death in most zombie games may lead you to be saved instead.

I think armor is a good idea.

And for the raiders and gangsters.... they used to be drug-dealing faction and bandits. In the apocalypse, they focus to survive as a group. So it's also about those military, police, and criminal factions in a zombie apocalypse. Why not? The criminals prefer M4A1 and other NATO-made weapons over AK-47. Yeah, Russian weapons are rarer.
I think the year will be set in 2016 or 2017. Some weapons are described differently rather than real life counterpart, meaning that they're the fictional version or have been improved in the game's universe.
Most of them are improved or enhanced version of nowadays weaponry and techmology. But yes, the city and conflict is fictional. Military is based on real life, but their structure and weaponry are different.
Some weapons have different description rather than their real life counterpart. The German G36 rifle for example. It is said that the Germans improved the G36 rifle and pressed the improved version into service. The improved version counter the annoying overheating problem. The US military begin adopting the M16A3 for several reasons. PLA soldiers have more advanced tech and equipment. PLA have ordered prototype Black Eagle tanks from Russia. German soldiers field test the Leopard 2A7. The US military is developing the XM8 into a new version. And many more.

For more uniqueness.... My storygame characters hairstyle might be different than in most movies or games. Twintails and Emo hairstyles......
For female characters.... their clothing are not that realistic or like in the movies or games either. It has a small resemblance to anime.
The soldiers/marines are not totally based on real life. Several things that don't exist with the soldiers in real life. PLA soldiers wear googles and sometimes face mask. US and German soldiers wear their ballistic googles fairly often. Their appearance seem to be a little bit futuristic.... just a little.
Hmph..... A character that resembles Leone from Akame ga Kill would be awesome.

I like how the year is set a couple in the future as it's mildly prophetic in a grim way.
